| City Focus Munich |
| This month we focus our attention on Munich, partly because Germany as a whole holds the Presidency of the European Union for 6 months until June and partly because Munich is one of the most important cities in Germany for both leisure and business. |

The Apartment Service handles a large number of enquiries yearly for this city in the South of the country, in the state of Bavaria.
Munich was founded in 1158 by Henry the Lion. In 1214 it was first referred to as a city. In 1255 Munich became the capital of the state of Bavaria.
One of the most famous "exports" of Munich is the Oktoberfest, also referred to as the largest public party in the world. The first festival was held in 1810 and ran between 12-17 October. In later years the festival was prolonged and brought forward to start in September, to ensure higher temperatures in the evenings. This year it will take place between 22nd September and 7th October
For the month of March the following events can be visited in the city:
* Bollywood - The Musical, still running until the 18th March in the Deutsches Theatre
* The Strong Beer Festival, the whole month of March. Paulaner keller am Nockerberg

Saco Apartments is opening a third location in Amsterdam, to bring their total number of apartments in the Dutch capital to more than double their capacity to 76 serviced apartments. The new property is situated in the Jordaan, 10 minutes walk from the Central Station.
Participation in Business Travel Show 2007, Earls Court 13-15 February:
The Apartment Service has had a very good response from exhibiting at the Business Travel Show. Our stand was in a good location and we have received a satisfactory number of high quality leads. IВґd like to convey a big thank you to our stand partners Ramada Docklands and Marlin Apartments in London, Properties Unique in Newcastle and Flatlink in Moscow for their presence and their co-operation to make the show a success. And of course also to our own staff members who spent time on the stand. The show saw a 6% increase in visitor numbers this year, to 7232, attributed to the venue change to Earls Court 2. Below some pictures to show our stand before the start of the exhibition and then the activity during the 3 days. |
