My name is Kylie Mann and I am originally from Sydney, Australia.
Graduating from the Intercontinental Hotel School Sydney with a Bachelor of Business in Hotel Management, I gained experience over the last 6 years within the Hospitality and Tourism Industry. I began my career as a Food and Beverage Attendant at Four Seasons Hotel, Sydney and soon progressed into Rooms Division. I then moved into a Guest Service Agent role at Quest Serviced Apartments and from there became the Reservations Supervisor and Night Audit Manager. It was here that I realised my passion for Sales and moved onto working for Hamilton Island as a Trade (Agency) Reservations Consultant and then progressed to the position of Direct Reservations Consultant.
As the travel bug hit in 2011, I broadened my Hospitality and Tourism horizons and set my sights on London. I moved to London in October 2011, soon after joining the Apartment Service in December 2011 and have never looked back. The atmosphere is great and I look forward to the challenges ahead and the experience and knowledge I will gain from all the team at The Apartment Service.
I enjoy the outdoors, travelling and experiencing different cuisines and cultures.

The Apartment Service in close co-operation with The Travel Intelligence Network (www.the-tin.com) has published 3 issues of the Global Serviced Apartments Industry Report to date.
The first edition came out in February 2008 and contained an overview of "What is a serviced apartment", Industry views and Expert views. We also started the documentation of the total number of serviced apartments worldwide.
In 2008 the total number of apartments uncovered was 452,051.
The second report was published in February 2010 in the time that the world was in economic recession. The sector remained optimistic about the future and this was also highlighted by an increase in the total number of documented serviced apartments worldwide to 491,465. We also started a regional update, looking at the various global regions, the differences in the markets and how serviced apartments are being operated.
The latest report came out in October 2011 and included again a regional update + views of Industry Experts from across the globe about their views and outlook for the sector. And the total number of documented serviced apartments worldwide increased to 669,744!
The first report is only available still in hard copy. The second and latest report are also available in PDF format. To order your free copy for either or all of the reports, please send an email to Bard Vos.
We welcome your feedback on the content of the reports, which can be left by commenting on this blog post. And of course also any suggestions for future editions, topics to write about, areas to research etc.
We look forward to an engaging conversation,

Business Development Executive BDE
Wimbledon and some field based
The Apartment Service are a long-established, successful global corporate housing solution based in south west London.
Due to recent internal promotions, we need an ambitious individual to join our sales team. You will need to be an assertive, focussed and persistent sales person. You must be able to communicate on all levels and possess excellent consultative business/account development skills.
The BDE will be responsible predominantly for the development of new business and maximizing opportunities from various sources and the development of business from existing accounts.
You will be targeting hotel booking agents and business travel and relocation sectors, therefore, a background in any of these industries would be an advantage but is not essential.
You must thrive in a target-driven environment where you will be rewarded by an uncapped earning potential. So if you have a pro-active approach and a proven track record in achieving and exceeding sales targets this could be your ideal opportunity.

All Glammed Up and....Somewhere to Go!!
Melissa, Mel&Kim, Sara and Oyinda
The Sales Team attended the EMMA’s on Friday 4th November in hope to scoop the Corporate Housing Provider of the Year award. Well done to Go Native and many thanks for the Champers!! We were a little jaded on Saturday morning but no lasting damage! We ate a fantastic spread and it was all going swimmingly until the lovely Shaun Prime from Go Native gave our table a bottle of champagne – which was a fantastic gesture but may have contributed to some pretty enthusiastic dancing from the TAS team! We all caught the 12.13 out of Vauxhall so were quite early considering some of our industry friends propped the bar up until the early hours. (Don’t panic, you remain nameless!)

Sara, Melissa and Kim. Another toast for the camera!!

TBTC 17/18 Oct 2011 – Attended by Tess Delve, Business Development Executive and Helen Richardson, Business Development Executive.
Helen and I had a fantastic exhibition we had a great stand set up just as you entered the conference. The workshop and seminars went smoothly and were well attended. Everyone seemed to enjoy the food, drink and sweets provided especially Helen and I.
We met lots of superb new (and current) corporate contacts and we got the opportunity to get to know them well at the dinner dance. We formed a new group of leading ladies called the ‘Prosecco Club’ and spent a fun packed few hours eating drinking and dancing. We all regrouped back at our stand for lunch on the second day and made a promise to keep in touch.
The second day was even better than the first as people were really getting into the swing of it. There was a real buzz in the air. Over all we really enjoyed it and we feel it will be very beneficial.

ERC Denver Oct 2011 – Attended by Melanie Degand, Director of Sales and Sara Calvo, Sales Manager.
After much hilarity and hysteria regarding our visa applications (or lack of) at T5 Heathrow, we finally boarded and were on our way to The Worldwide ERC in Denver, Colorado.
Our exhibition booth attracted many admirers where we showcased our “Straight from the Horse’s Mouth” Serviced Apartment Industry report 2011 written by our very own Charlie McCrow.

It was great to meet up with industry friends and put names to faces with some of our overseas clients. With our intentions to help the US relocate clients to Europe and the rest of the world as an agent and provider, we forged some great new relationships in the American relocation and mobility market. We intend to bring back a slice of Denver’s excellent customer service which was outstanding and want to extend this to our own clients when helping them to find temporary serviced apartment solutions.

The Apartment Service was represented last week on Thursday (13th October) at a Go Karting Event organised by the Institute for Travel and Meetings (ITM). Although we were tipped as the favourites, we narrowly missed a podium spot. Our team however with Jostein Smeby, Sean Briggs, Oyinda Kasumu and captain Mario Erro (alias the Super Mario Brothers and Sister) had a great evening and "we like to thank the ITM for inviting us."

Sean, Oyinda, Jostein and Mario looking the part!!
